Sharing Zoom Games, Tips, Exercises and Improvisations
Monday 13 July, 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Where: Zoom virtual meeting
In June David Furlong ran a session providing a playful opportunity to share games and exercises as well as share tips and experiences over Zoom. This is another chance to come together exchange and play.
The first half of the session will explore warm-up and getting- to-know-one-another type games adapted for an online workshop environment.
The second half of the session will focus on improvisation and making. This could range from theatre sport type exercises to all kinds of devising/improvising techniques that you want to try and adapt to Zoom or that you’ve already improved.
The last section of the session will be a space to talk a little bit about your experiences. It will be a safe space to discover ways in which other theatre-makers keep playing and practising online.
The session will be as practical as possible so to fully participate it would be appreciated if you would find a way to have your laptop/device/webcam at chest height, so as to be able to move about.
Please click the sign-up button above to let us know you plan to attend so we can email Zoom details to you the day before.
Closed captions will be available for this session via Otter AI. Please let us know if you have any other access requirements using the space on the sign up form.
This is a peer-led project led by David Furlong, Jerwood Assistant Director on Orfeus: A House Music Opera. David is a theatre-maker and artistic director of Exchange Theatre. He directs and performs with his own company and others. He also facilitates access to theatre and drama workshops for non-theatre people of all ages, origins and backgrounds, and has recently created a body of online drama classes.
RTYDS is currently curating the Young Vic Directors Programme. You don’t need to be a member of the Genesis Network to take part in this session, but you do need to be a professional director, designer or producer and not in full time education.
