Class and Coronavirus Town Hall

Tuesday 10 November, 12.30-2pm

Where: Zoom virtual meeting

Directors Stef O’Driscoll and Caitriona Shoobridge set up the Class and Coronavirus project initially as a space for working class, benefit class, criminal class and underclass artists (WBCU-C) to check in during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

They are currently trialling introducing some more curated events that focus on a specific aspect of the industry to alternate with a pastoral check-in space for working, benefit, criminal and underclass theatre-makers.

The next Town Hall meeting, Routes to Leadership, will focus on the different pathways into creative leadership in the industry.  They will be joined by an incredibly exciting panel of Artistic Directors from a working class background, including:

Roy Alexander Weise (Co-Artistic Director, Manchester Royal Exchange), Natalie Ibu (Artistic Director, Northern Stage), Abdul Shayek (Artistic Director, Tara Arts), Charlotte Bennett (Co-Artistic Director, Paines Plough), Jimmy Fairhurst (Artistic Director, Not Too Tame) and Matthew Xia (Artistic Director, ATC).

The session will start with each member of the panel introducing themselves, followed by a discussion facilitated by Stef and Cat, with opportunity for questions from the network. If you would rather send a question in ahead by email please feel free to do so at rtyds@rtyds.co.uk.

To join the Town Hall meeting, please click on the Sign Up button at the top of the page and complete the short form, even if you are already part of the network.  If you have any access requirements, there is space on the form for you to let us know.
