The Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme are looking for a Programme Producer

Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme (RTYDS) is the UK’s pre-eminent programme of professional development for theatre directors and theatre makers, enabling talented artists across the UK to build their craft and to develop their leadership skills.

We are an Arts Council England NPO and associate company at the Royal Exchange Theatre where we are based.

We currently run five programmes of work for directors and theatre makers at all levels. Over the last three years we worked with 45 regional theatres and companies and more than 400 new and emerging directors.

We are looking for a resourceful and highly organised Programme Producer to join our small team and help us to change the face of British theatre.

You’ll have a background in arts marketing, producing, general management or administration, a flair for organisation, an interest in strategy, the ability to work independently on multiple projects and be confident with digital and social media. You will be committed to equality and addressing the imbalance in representation in the arts in terms of race, gender, class, age, disability, sexuality, class and education and finding creative ways to make change.

We actively encourage people from all backgrounds to apply and positively impact our working practice. We are particularly keen to receive applications from people of colour, D/deaf and disabled, LGBTQ+ or those experiencing barriers due to socio-economic background. We welcome applications from candidates who wish to work in a flexible working pattern, for example due to caring responsibilities or access requirements relating to a disability.  We are open to the potential for the role to be shared (salary on a pro rata basis).

All D/deaf or disabled applicants who demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria will be invited for interview.
